“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6

How wonderful it is that we have this privilege to come to the throne of grace with all our requests and thanksgiving. We have much for which to thank the Lord. We have experienced His guiding hand during this General Conference Session, and this is why the prayer meetings in the morning are the best part of the daily schedule.

Morning worship started with the singing of hymn “I Need Thee Every Hour”. How true are the words of this hymn; without the Lord, we could not exist without His sustaining grace. Br. Jeyasingh D. spoke about the unchanging character of God. “One aspect of God’s character stands out to me,” said Br. Jeyasingh. “And that characteristic is shown in Jesus—in how He loved and cared for people while He was on this earth. His love is demonstrated in how He healed the sick, comforted the broken hearted, and gave hope to the hopeless. He always had time and an encouraging word for any men that came in contact with Him. This is the character we all must possess.”

“God has given us a perfect standard of character, which we are ever to keep before us. Through the strength that Christ can impart, we may keep the law of God. We should be obedient children, whatever difficulty we may have to encounter.” Lift Him Up, 239.2

“If we would humble ourselves before God, and be kind and courteous and tenderhearted and pitiful, there would be one hundred conversions to the truth where now there is only one.” Testimonies vol. 9, 189.4

The Business of the Day
Br. Sureshkumar addressed the session this morning and talked about Christian courtesy, and about how important it is to prove ourselves, that we are indeed Christians. He talked about the importance of forgetting self and finding those who need our help. There are so many who need help around us. Sometimes it is only a smile that we can give, but that may be all someone needs.

“It is never convenient to take up the cross and follow in the path of self-denial, and yet this must be done. God wants all to have His grace and His Spirit to make fragrant their life. Some are too independent, too self-sufficient, and do not counsel with others as they should.” Testimonies vol.4 557.2

“The cross, the cross; lift it, … and in the act of raising it you will be astonished to find that it raises you, it supports you. In adversity, privation, and sorrow it will be a strength and a staff to you. You will find it all hung with mercy, compassion, sympathy, and inexpressible love. It will prove to you a pledge of immortality. May you be able to say with Paul: “God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Testimonies vol. 2, 47.1

“The yoke and the cross are symbols representing the same thing,–the giving up of the will to God. Wearing the yoke unites finite man in companionship with the dearly beloved Son of God. Lifting the cross cuts away self from the soul, and places man where he learns how to bear Christ’s burdens. We cannot follow Christ without wearing His yoke, without lifting the cross and bearing it after Him. If our will is not in accord with the divine requirements, we are to deny our inclinations, give up our darling desires, and step in Christ’s footsteps.” Bible Commentary vol. 5 1090. 8

“Brethren, let us come to the cross with emptiness and then we will be filled with power from above,” said Br. Sureshkumar. “Then we will finish our business in no time and finish it in the way God would have us do it.

Today we had 173 delegates seated at 9:00am when the minutes from yesterday, September 3rd, were read and accepted. After this, the various committees were dismissed for their work until lunchtime, at which point the session concluded for the week. We thank God for His guidance in the work so far, and we pray that He will keep blessing the session till the end. Amen.

It’s this for real? Is this the report for the one-day? Few statements from spirit of prophecy?

Hi, thank you for your comments. I understand your concerns but you should understand how a GC Session works. The different committees work during the day but do not necessarily bring to the floor a report on which they have to vote. We only report the official subjects that were voted on, not the discussions of the different committees.

Many weeks before and during the session we have been praying, crying to God for safe trips to & from many countries. With the result so far we believe God is in full control.
Please what is the full name of the Northern African Regional Secretary and from which country?
